Welcome to our Music Program! I’m Lacy Hines, the part-time music and choir director at First Lutheran, and I’m passionate about helping students discover the joy of music.

When I'm not teaching, I’m a private vocal coach, helping individuals find their unique voice. Outside of music, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children. Originally from North Carolina, I’m always up for a new adventure exploring New England with my family and friends.

Pre-k - 4th Grade:

In our classes designed for students from Pre-K through 4th grade, we dive into the world of rhythm, melody, and expression. We learn how to read music, play instruments, and explore exciting musical traditions from around the globe. Every class is packed with engaging activities, from fun games that teach music theory to hands-on opportunities to try different instruments. And of course, we sing—whether it's familiar tunes or new songs from cultures near and far!

5th through 8th Grade:

For our older students in grades 5-8, we offer an exciting choir experience that goes beyond just singing. Our choir performs at community events like Bright Nights and the Holyoke Christmas Tree Lighting, bringing holiday cheer through music. But it doesn’t stop there! We’ve started incorporating acting into our performances, especially in our annual school Christmas program, where students get to showcase their love for the stage along with their vocal talents.
